As the fifth generation iPhone, the iPhone 4s was announced today by Apple, there are a number of unanswered questions about the iPad 3. Although Apple said nothing about the next generation iPad at today’s event which was held on the Apple campus, The Wall Street Journal reports that the iPad 3 will release in early 2012 and will have a retina display.
The next generation iPad is expected to feature a high resolution display – 2048 by 1536 compared with 1024 by 768 in the iPad 2 – and Apple’s suppliers have already shipped small quantities of components for the sampling of the iPad 3. Suppliers said Apple has placed orders for a 9.7-inch screen device.
The next iPad is expected to come with a 2048 x 1536 display compared with the 1024 x 768 display currently in the iPad 2 and first generation iPad. According to Apple suppliers, Cupertino has already ordered 9.7 inch screens for the next iPad.
